The first step of the Delta HF 4WD, renamed Delta HF Integrale, was presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1987.
The power of the 1995 cm³ turbocharged and intercooled engine could delivered 185 HP, thanks to a big Garrett T3 Turbo and totally new electronic management.
Officially the Delta HF Integrale 16v, it made its debut at the end of the 1989 championship, during the Sanremo Rally, where thanks to the outgoing World Champion Miki Biasion, he scored a memorable victory after an extraordinary comeback over Alex Fiorio and Carlos Sainz. The car continued to reap repetitive successes throughout the next two years.
