1967 Alfa Romeo GTA 1600 Stradale

The legendary and multiple victorious GTA (Gran Turismo Alleggerita) was presented at the 1965 Salon in Amsterdam.
This car was produced in 500 examples needed to compete in the Group 2 championship against the Ford Cortina Lotus
The lightweight alloy body « Peraluman 25″, the elimination of any soundproofing, the simplest set – up, contained only 745 Kg weight.
The classic 1570cc was equipped with the double access head to use larger diameter valves and to achieve greater efficiency in combustion.
The power went up from 115 hp for the “street version » up to over 170 hp achieved by the AutoDelta racing department.
The GTA collected so many victories and had been « the car to beat for over a decade.
