LOTUS ELEVEN LE MANS “Matching Numbers”

We are pleased to offer this really Rare Matching numbers & colors 1956 LOTUS ELEVEN LE MANS, with FIVA and ASI Registration, two owners car since the car had been imported in Italy.
It has a great race’s history and had participated at the Mille Miglia in 2002 with Jason Wright and in 2007 and in 2012 at the Vernasca Silver Flag with the previous owner.
The Le Mans version was built in only 150 examples, and only 8 with a 11cm wider frame. The choice to make this change was due to Colin Chapman following a bad accident in 1955 in Le Mans Track.
On this version was also installed the famous "Coventry Climax" engine of 1.500 cc, capable of developing 140hp which, coupled with the weight of only 450kg, allowed this car to reach up to 220 km / h.
This car on sale in our showroom attended the November 1956 at the Earls Court Motors Show
These eight rare wider frame cars, are very desirable for events 1000 Miglia, where a bigger chassis and two normal seats are much more comfortable.
The car some years ago had a conservative body restoration in the UK by a Lotus specialist
The mechanics has always been upgraded and followed by the best specialists in the market and still now in perfect condition
